Let’s take a look at lapsed members over a recent one-month period. Twenty-nine members were lapsed. Of those twenty-nine members, twelve were first-year members, one was a two-year member, and three were three-year members. The rest were between 3 and 27-year members. I hope to see the loss of first, second, and third year members drop to zero. I think we can do this by implementing the buddy system we talked about at Officer’s Training. I will keep you up to date on how we are doing with that.

We have a great opportunity this year to bring a non-member to the Summer Hummer for the same price as a member, or $45 at the gate. This is a great way to introduce non-members to ABATE. So please bring a “buddy.”

I think when they see who we are and what we do, they will sign up.

Remember, if you sign up 5 new members, you will receive an “I GOT MINE” T-shirt.

Also, remember that we will be electing new ABATE officers this year, beginning now and ending in October. If you are interested in running for an office, there are application deadlines that need to be met and candidacy paperwork that must be turned in on time. Those deadlines are listed on page 4 in this newsletter. The information also tells you where to send the paperwork once you decide to run. Different officers being elected have different timelines, the first being District Directors. The candidacy papers for the District Director positions are due on April 15^th. That’s coming up soon. Be sure to get your papers in now if you want to represent one of the 8 districts we have throughout Wisconsin.
