Marketing Report - May 2026

Last month I shared some tips for having a successful event. This month I thought I would share thoughts on selecting what kind of event might work for your Region. I'm sure some regions looked at last month’s tips and thought, we don't have enough volunteers to do something like that. I get it, I hear the challenges that some regions are facing. That is where considering the event can help change your feelings about the region doing an event. You don't have to host it for it to be beneficial. Think about what some goals/objectives might be: raising money, raising awareness, gaining members, or gaining general exposure for ABATE.

With May being Motorcycle Awareness Month, Regions across the state are planning a variety of events. Some are holding brat fry's to help promote ABATE, make money, and raise awareness while not potentially distracting a driver. Some are holding rallies on busy roads to help remind drivers to see & think about motorcycles. Some are hosting cook-offs to raise funds and gain attention to our cause. And some are setting up a booth at other motorcycle related events. Please make sure to send pictures to events@abatewis.org so we can use them in the newsletter & on Facebook.

If your Region happens to be short on volunteers, I encourage you to find another successful community event and reach out to see how ABATE might be able to get involved. What would it take for us to have a booth? Sometimes this may only be a small charge or free. Then you take your marketing supplies handed out at Officer Training and set up with a chair & table for the day. At the start of the day, write down your favorite things about ABATE; the reasons you became a member, still are a member, and volunteer. Odds are, those reasons will hit home with a few other people. Put on a smile and give a cheerful hello to those attending. Not everyone will talk to you and not everyone will be cheerful back; but some will and at the end of the day you will have had the opportunity to talk about ABATE. You don't have to be the best sales person, just be friendly and be genuine.

As always, if you have events that you would like shared, need help with a poster or Facebook event post, need marketing items, or have marketing ideas; please reach out. 920-858-7189 or events@abatewis.org or krissybowe@gmail.com.

Enjoy the Ride!
