ABATE of Wisconsin 1F Waukesha County
Welcome to April for 1F Waukesha.
The Pledge of Allegiance always starts out our meeting. We then pay our respects with a moment of silence for our Brothers
and Sisters who are no longer with us. We also pay our respects for all those Men and Women who serve and protect 24/365!
Region 1F Report - BuellBob.
Changes are coming. As in, I have a new cell phone number so please make a note of it. My new number is 262-315-5643. I
will be making the switch and contacting everyone to inform you. So, if you receive a text or phone call from this number, it' s
me.
Officer’s Training recap was next on our agenda.
There's always much to do when we arrive in Marshfield. It's always educational and learning new ideas always helps make
ABATE better. A big thank you again to Dawn at Full Throttle Travel for donating 3 baskets to the Auction for our
fundraiser. I really appreciate her help (and thanks for planning my wife’s and my last trip).
Last item on the agenda is our 4th annual "Knock the Rust Off" motorcycle riding event. We are locked in for April 26th at
Fox River Church on HWY 164 and Lawnsdale Rd. It starts at 9 am and ends at noon. Gary Klinker is setting up the course
again this year. We will have a State Patrol officer in attendance for a Q & A session and tips on riding safety. Triumph
Waukesha has always supported 1F and they continue to do so. They are bringing their van with a couple bikes to display,
and we greatly appreciate their support. Thank you, Krissy, for designing our new posters for this event.
Share the Road - Bob T.
Bob has reported there is still no movement on setting up classes. It's a shame that this very educational program isn' t being
utilized for Driver's Ed. Thanks for the effort to keep it going Bob.
Products Report - Janet
Janet was informed that all products are in limbo, and nothing will be distributed to bring back. She was informed that the
Board of Directors will be discussing it at the March meeting. Stay tuned for more information. Thank you, Janet, for your
efforts.
April showers bring May flowers. Well, if you remember last April, May and June we had a whole lot of rain. Let's hope
history doesn't repeat itself. By now, most of us have either taken our bikes out or at least uncovered them. It is always an
exciting time for us. We have been waiting patiently for it. If you don't have it stored at a dealership who normally will check
it out before you pick it up. Please take some time to go over the tires and make sure there's enough tread on them and are
filled to the proper pressure. Check your brake pads that there's plenty of life left in them. Check the fluids for your brakes,
engine oil and transmission oil and (if your bike has cables) for the clutch and throttle. Sit on her and make sure the
suspension rebounds and you can move the handlebars side to side freely. Check your headlights, taillight, and turn signals.
Check your dashboard lights and idiot lights. Does your horn work? Now you are ready to head out to "Knock the Rust Off"
on April 26th. See you there!
For more information on a weekly basis, you can always check out our 1F’s TGIF Facebook page every Friday. I try to keep everyone informed about what’s happening in and around our state.
Let’s Be Safe Out There!
May God Bless you! May God Bless America! 🙏🏼🇺🇸
