Greetings from 1F Waukesha.

The Pledge of Allegiance always starts out our meeting. We then pay our respects with a moment of silence for our Brothers and Sisters who are no longer with us. We also pay our respects for all those Men and Women who serve and protect 24/365!

 

Region 1F Report BuellBob.

We started our meeting talking about doing some social gatherings during the winter months. We are hoping to have other regions join us since we won’t be riding for a while. Coordinating weekends and venues is always challenging. Seems like everyone has something to do almost every weekend. At our next meeting we will lock in activities, dates, and venues so we can have a little fun together. We will be posting to inform everyone in our ABATE family to join us.

 

Big News at 1F!

I would like to introduce our new Legislative Rep. Julie Balthazar. Julie joined 1F a while ago and decided to step up and help make a difference. I’ve known Julie for a long time, and I know she will do a great job. So please welcome Julie as 1F’s Legislative Rep.

 

It's that time of year to start looking at, yes, I’m going to say it, our Christmas Party! It was funny, driving over to the meeting one of the radio stations was playing Christmas music! There’s a story about them playing Christmas music, but it was fitting that it happened today.

 

December 2nd is 1F’s Christmas Party. We have always had everyone bring a dish to pass. We also ask for toy/money donations as well. By the way, Bob T. makes great Deviled Eggs. We talked about attending other regions' Christmas parties and sharing in the joy of the season and supporting our ABATE family. More information will be coming.

 

Treasury Report, Bob T.

Bob informed us that he has renewed our Raffle License for this year. But the fee is going up to $50 bucks for next year. Like our state needs more money in the bank! That started a discussion about whether we should renew it next year. We have 11 months to decide. We are all up to date on everything else.

As I said earlier, Julie is our new representative. I will send an email to Steve P. to add her to his email list to help Julie get the latest information on what’s happening in Madison.

Membership Report, Werner.

We are holding our own as far as membership goes. As always, it’s up to each one of us to try and get new members and welcome them into our Family. Werner did inform us of a couple of members that have not renewed. He is calling, texting, and emailing to let them know they are overdue.

Share The Road report, Bob T.

I had heard a news report about having 14-year-olds start Drivers Ed. Bob was going to check into it more. Unfortunately, Bob said no classes have been scheduled in the upcoming months.

At this point we are waiting to see if products are going to be available. Hopefully soon we can get some more details on the new products.

If you like Pumpkin Spice, guess what time of year it is? Yes, it’s October. The Halloween displays have been out in stores for over a month. Retailers sure do push the seasons on us earlier every year. For some of us we are still in full ride mode. To be honest I think Fall riding is some of the most beautiful rides in our state. The colors splashed all over the countryside are spectacular. Nothing like heading out in the morning with a chill in the air and by noon it’s sunny and warm. So, take advantage of this beautiful riding weather because soon, it will be gone!
