Summer Hummer Report - May 2026

We’re Coming Down to the Wire

And that means it’s crunch time. Time to come up with your regional campsite contest ideas. Time to get your vacation days scheduled with your boss. Time to decide if you’re going to “tent” it again. Time to decide where you will be setting up. And time to decide who you’re bringing with you. Hope it’s someone who hasn’t been here before. Show them what great facilities we have in ABATE Acres and what innocent (?) fun we can have while we’re there. If you can’t enjoy the weekend with some of your long time friends, you might be a lost cause….or just make some new ones!

AGAIN…We couldn’t do this without our Hummer sponsors. Please be sure to thank them, one and all. Here is the list of our sponsors: Al’s Hideout/Barronett Bar & Grill/Beedle’s Bar & Restaurant/Brat Stop/Craft Masonry, Inc./Dam Yankees Watering Hole/Dave Linberg/Dennis & Kay Manke/Elkhorn Saloon/Franko’s/Gaier Construction Corp/Great River Harley Davidson/Happy Beeerz/Hardtial/Harley Davidson of Madison/Hometown Bar/Hupy & Abraham/HB Strategies/Jerry Martell/Jo & Mike Halvorson/John & Michelle’s Bateman Tavern/Kal’s Korner/Kellner Club/Midway Bar/Region 1H/Sleepy Hollow Motel-Wildfire Trails Inn/State Bank of Chilton/The Dawg House/the Dump Bar & Grill/The Highground/The Way Station & Eatery/Twisted Tap/Worm & Julie Grasse /Animal’s Bear Trail and The Great River Roadhouse.

This has been the best year yet for sponsorships. Thanks to everyone involved in getting these sponsors to help us out.

Lend us a hand. We are in need of help to man the First Aid area. This is a hard one to fill because someone has to be on call the entire weekend, which means we need several people to fill 24 hour shifts. If you are an EMT/Nurse/Physician, etc. in your real life, please contact Worm to volunteer your services. Hopefully, we will have enough volunteers where you won’t need to work more than a few shifts.

Volunteer by contacting the following:

Bar Area Leads: Brad Shakal (715) 306-0105

Bike Show Lead: Gary Krueger (920) 994-4638

First Aid Lead: Open

Gate Lead: Bill Roberge (608) 769-5337

All of the contracts for the bands are signed and have been returned to us, so we are all set with our music.

The schedule:

Thursday: 5 pm – Shady Glen Band / 9 pm – The Alimony Blues Band

Friday: 5 pm – Jack Damage Band / 9 pm - Enuff Said

Saturday: Noon – Tuck Pence Band / 5 pm – Los Guy’s / 9 pm The Bad Mother Truckers

Sunday: 1 pm - Libra Union (for those members who stick around to help with the clean-up)

The Summer Hummer T-Shirt order form is on page 7 of this newsletter if you want yours, you only have a short time to be able to order them. They can be picked up at the Hummer to avoid any shipping costs.

The direct member advertising postcards went out mid-March. The committee is counting on our members to do their part and hand their card to a non-member or member alike that has never been to the Hummer. By doing so, the attendee, when presenting the postcard at the gate, will get in for a promotional gate entry fee of $40. That is quite a savings if the person is a non-member and would have had to pay $80 at the gate to get in for the weekend. The postcard will then be entered into a drawing where the member of the postcard drawn will receive either a free one-year membership renewal or the equivalency of value in the form of a check. ($35) Let’s be sure to get those postcards handed out and increase the attendance at our 2026 rally. This is the first time we have used this form of advertising so let’s see how well it works in bumping up our numbers.

And of course, again a reminder that the gate prices have increased by $5 each. That means that a member gets in for $45 and a non-member gets in for $80 at the gate. Of course, advance ticket prices will still carry a discount, so order early and save yourself some money.

It’s coming right up. Are you ready?

Hope to See You There and Tell Your Friends!

Save The Date – Hummer 2026 is June 25, 26, 27th!
