Posters Are Ready To Distribute
Posters are done and were distributed at Officer’s Training. Now we all need them taken to your local places of business and hung up. Let’s get as many of these out as possible. The more people that see them, the better off our attendance will be.
If you haven’t already heard, the committee decided not to advertise in any newspapers this year as we did not feel it was beneficial to us. Instead, we are going to directly advertise to our own members. All members will receive a postcard listing information regarding the Hummer. This card serves two purposes. One – It will remind you to get up to ABATE Acres and the Hummer yourself, and Two - The member receiving this card will be able to give the postcard to a non-member who will then be eligible for entry into the Hummer at the Member’s gate entry cost. Once the card is turned in at the Hummer gate, it will go into a drawing. The winning member will receive a one-year ABATE membership extension or the equivalence of a $35 check. And of course, word of mouth is a great way of letting people know what we have to offer at the Summer Hummer.
Know of a sponsor that didn’t sign up yet? There is still time for them to get in on the sponsorship banner program. The banners range in cost from $300 to $500 each depending on their size. These banners will be displayed in the bar area from Land Warming to Land Closing. A form to apply for this advertising/sponsorship level is included in the newsletter. A special thanks goes out to the regions that met their $500 in sponsorships goal that the committee set. It's rewarding to see how many regions fully support this rally.
Now that our musical entertainment is set, (and yes, Hardtail, we are bringing back Tuck Pence!) it’s time to start the push for vendors. If you know of anyone who would like to be at the Summer Hummer to sell their wares or make us some delicious food, please give them Lauri Shakal’s or Betsy Jenning’s information so they can be sent the information needed to become a vendor. Remember that you can direct them to the Summer Hummer page on our website where they can download the application and any other pertinent info they might need.

The Hummer Committee is still deciding on the Summer Hummer design for a T-shirt. As soon as the design is chosen, we will have forms available in the paper for pre-orders that can either be shipped to you directly with shipping cost included or picked up at the Hummer at no shipping charge.
Has your region chosen your “Campsite Theme” yet? Some are being pretty secretive regarding their ideas for the contest that is held on Saturday during the Hummer. There are specific criteria that need to be met by Steve and Twit – The Judges - during the competition. Will your region be in the running? Time will tell.
Just a reminder that the gate prices have increased by $5 each. That means that a member gets in for $45 and a non-member gets in for $80 at the gate. Of course, advance ticket prices will still carry a discount, so order early and save yourself some money.
Isn’t it June yet? Can’t wait.
Hope to See You There and Tell Your Friends!
