Summer Hummer Report - February 2026

Krissy Bowe
Betty Roberge

We are in the final months leading up to the Hummer and our various areas we of the event are coming along well. By the time Officer Training comes around you will have posters in your hands for distribution. The best form of advertising is word of mouth, so get out there and talk it up, then leave a poster to remind them of the details.

Sponsors came in this year at a great number, although there is always room for improvement. Although sponsor information can no longer be printed on our flyer, they are still able to be included in all other forms of advertising – the newsletter – the calendar of events, etc. Encourage the businesses / establishments you know to become a sponsor. Don't forget that we also offer sponsorship banners. These banners will be displayed in the bar area from Land Warming to Land Closing. A form to apply for this advertising/sponsorship level is included in the newsletter. A special thanks to all of the regions that met their $500 in sponsorships goal that the committee set. It's rewarding to see how many regions fully support this rally.

Our advertising is taking us to a new place this Hummer season. We are going to direct market our own members in order to try to generate greater attendance from within. If we were able to see half of our members come to the Hummer, we would be quite successful. The program works like this. Each member or couple will receive a post card invitation with Hummer details on it to let them know what a great rally this has become... The members have the option to give the card to a non-member friend, relative, co-worker, etc. who will be entitled to use the postcard for entrance into the Summer Hummer at the membership rate. The cards that are used at the gate for entrance will go into a drum and the winning member listed on the card will be entered to win a 1 year membership or cash value equivalent.

It’s time to start the push for vendors. If you know of anyone who would like to be at the Summer Hummer to sell their wares or make us some delicious food, please give them Lauri Shakal’s or Betsy Jenning’s information so they can be sent the information needed to become a vendor. Remember that you can direct them to the Summer Hummer page on our website where they can download the application and any other pertinent info they might need.

The Hummer Committee will be deciding on the Summer Hummer design for a T-shirt at Officer’s Training. You still have a little time to submit your idea. Send it to either Worm or Betty.

Regions are being pretty secretive regarding their “Campsite Theme” for the contest that is held on Saturday during the Hummer. There are specific criteria that needs to be met by Steve and Twit during the competition. Will your region be in the running? Time will tell.

Just a reminder that the gate prices have increased by $5 each. That means that a member gets in for $45 and a non-member gets in for $80 at the gate. Of course, advance ticket prices will still carry a discount, so order early and save yourself some money.

Isn’t it June yet? Can’t wait.

Hope to See You There and Tell Your Friends!

Save The Date – Hummer 2026 is June 25, 26, 27th!
