Safety Report - September 2026
As I sit down to write this, I just finished watching the Sturgis Hall of Fame Induction Breakfast. I had the privilege, along with Hardtail and our friend Gary Sellers, to do a short video introduction of Dave Dwyer for his induction. For many years Dave led our Legislative Committee and put ABATE of Wisconsin in the forefront of SMROs. We should all be very proud of him and the rest of the Wisconsin people in the Hall of Fame.
Whenever I visit the Museum and HOF it amazes me how many of the people there that I have met, know personally, or call friends. I guess that is what happens after fifty-two years of doing what we do. The induction ceremony was very well done. Even just watching the video it lets me feel the passion of the riders, industry people, racers, and especially the Rights people. The theme of them all was freedom, the American spirit, and patriotism. Something we need a lot more of. Congratulations Dave!
Speaking of Halls of Fame, I want to recognize our good friend Gary Sellers on his election and induction into the American Motorcyclist Association Hall of Fame. He co-founded ABATE of Ohio, is an AMA Life Member, and was one of the early leaders of the MRF. Congratulations Gary. You are one of the best!
Now that the Wisconsin primary election is over, we know who will be running for all state and local offices. It is time to attend campaign events and get to know who these people are and make sure they know us. When you read this there will only be about two months to get the work done before two or four more years of the consequences. Don’t sit on the sidelines. Politics is a full contact sport, not a spectator sport.
We are coming into the best riding season of the year (in my opinion). Get out and enjoy it before winter gets here. We are looking forward to our yearly get away for a week of riding this month. I’ll let you know about it later.
