Proud of the Membership Award Recipients
I recently attended the ABATE of Wisconsin annual meeting in Rothschild, WI. This is a non-election year, so the main focus was the Board Meeting on Sunday and the Awards Banquet on Saturday night.
It was my pleasure to present two membership awards this year. One award was for the District that signed up the highest number of memberships during the last 12 months. (Membership award tallies run from September 15th to September 15th – a total of 12 months.) This award was presented to District 1. Congratulations, and keep up the good work.
The second award was presented to the individual member who signed up the most memberships in the same time frame. This award was presented to Keith Hamilton out of Region 2A.
Thank you goes out to both District 1 and to Keith for their 2025 accomplishments regarding membership. I look forward to presenting these membership awards again next year. The challenge is out there to not only gain more members but to retain them. I know we can do it.
By the way, the next annual meeting will be held during an election year for ABATE officers. Start thinking about where your talents lie and what you are interested in accomplishing with the organization for the following two years. Run for an office. Every position will be on the ballot.
The other important part of the annual meeting weekend was the Board meeting. The first draft of our 2026 annual budget was given to the board of directors to take home and study. Discussion/approval will take place in the future.
The legislative committee also sets the legislative agenda for 2026 at the annual meeting. You can find more details of that subject elsewhere in the newsletter.
This is a good time of year to talk to prospective members at many of our indoor activities that take place over the winter months. And don’t forget about the incentive programs for recruiting new members.
