Elections Are Underway

The election process for ABATE of WI is underway. The District Director candidacy papers were due in the state office by April 15, 2026. That time has now passed. We have a couple of districts that have more than one candidate that have filed candidacy papers so, I must remind you that every vote counts and your vote is very important. This could be a tight race.

The ABATE of Wisconsin election timeline will be in every newsletter until the October State Meeting where the final executive officer election will take place. Regions should have their regional elections done by then. Your date for holding your election must be posted in the newsletter for three months before your regional election takes place.

Candidates for office must be at least a two-year member unless otherwise approved by the Board of Directors.

I encourage anyone interested in running for office to please do so. If you have any questions, check the newsletter or feel free to call me.

Regions, please don’t forget to contact your new members and put them in contact with a mentor or buddy that will introduce them to the ins and outs of all that ABATE has to offer.

Now is also a good time to start planning participation in local events. We need to let the general public know who we are. Parades? Picnics?

And don’t forget the Summer Hummer. You have the opportunity to bring a non-member with you for the one-time promotional cost of $35. Check with your regional rep for more information on that. I think we will get some new members from this promotion…But what will we do then?  Mentor them into active members, that’s what.

Don’t forget to vote for your District Directors. Get familiar with them through their profiles which are in this newsletter. The ballot for District Director voting will be in the June newsletter. Call me if you have any questions.
