The First Three Are In- How are you stacking up?

Congratulations to Keith Hamilton, Trudy Cruz and Davey Jones who were the first 3 members to earn the “I Got Mine” T-shirt. Good job!

Remember that if you sign up five NEW members you will receive a free T-shirt (I Got Mine.) When you submit those 5 new members for processing, Marie will contact you to find out your shirt size so they can be ordered. Once printed, I will bring the shirts to the next board meeting and give them to your District Director who will get them to your regional rep. This saves ABATE postage costs.

I recently attended the 35th Annual Heartland STEAM conference in Bettendorf, IA. If you are not aware of it STEAM stands for Seminar To Educate and Motivate, and it did just that. I have been in ABATE for a number of years, and it still amazes me how much there is to learn. Friday evening, we were greeted by the State Coordinator of ABATE of Iowa. Then we learned about the 5 core values of the MRF. Each state reported about the issues that affect motorcyclists in their state.

After the opening ceremonies on Saturday, the day continued with reports about everything from “Wheels-What makes our world go around” to the principles of leadership. The afternoon was filled with many breakout sessions.

I would like to thank the Members of ABATE of Iowa for a great and well-run conference.

Well, riding season is finally here. Be sure to carry some membership brochures with you wherever you go. Talk to anyone that is on a motorcycle and let them know about what we continue to fight for. You will be surprised how easy it gets after you do it a few times. Once you get those 5 new members, proudly wear your “I GOT MINE” shirt.
