Marketing Report - August 2025

July sure has been filled with lots of regional activities. There have been a bunch of ABATE events, but also even more ABATE partnered events. It can be hard if you only have a few people that are willing or able to volunteer. The idea of running a fundraiser or event can seem exhausting. This is where it is so great to find other organizations to partner with. Maybe a few members help out at a big ride in exchange for being able to also have a table or hand out our merch and info to people or put a brochure in every goodie bag. If there are community events, maybe inquire about what it would cost to have a table at the event. Lots of times they may be free, you just have to ask. There are also lots of bars that are setting up farmers’ markets or pop up shopping events in their small towns. They know it's a way to get people to their business while helping support other small businesses. It may not have a ton of people but if you can add to the event and chat with a few others throughout the day it's not a bad gig.

From there, have a fun activity to draw people in. Sometimes this could be a bean bag board. If they get 1 in, they get a keychain. Other game ideas could be to pick a duck, find the pea in the cup, spin a wheel, plinko, and ladder ball. You could really turn any game into something for a "prize". We also have free Tat's for events that kids will be at. Set up a bike or 2 that are comfortable letting a kid sit on it. Anything that you can do that may make them smile and gives you 30 seconds of their attention is all you might need. Then you can send them on their way with a brochure and a prize. Each time people have positive interactions with us, it increases the likelihood of them really listening to our issues and potentially joining us. Marketing studies show that it takes on average 7 times for a consumer to see your product before they become aware of it or take action/buy it. This is why it's super important that each interaction we have is a positive one. Don't let people see the exhausted version of yourself that feels like you're busting your butt and getting nowhere. Find low effort activities that allow you to share your excitement about ABATE and why you are a member. That's the version people need to see. Because let's be real... bikers are pretty fun!
