Dear Cuz,

I’ve heard that once you sell your bike or give up riding there is no reason to belong to ABATE of Wisconsin. Why is that?

Not Ready To Give Up The Fight

Dear Fighter,

That’s a bunch of poppy cock! Just because you no longer feel comfortable riding or have given up your bike for any other reason does not mean that you can no longer be or should no longer be a member of ABATE of Wisconsin. Riding a motorcycle is not a pre-requisite for either becoming or staying a member. As a matter of fact, I know many ABATE members that don’t ride and some never have. We are not a riding organization. We are a freedom organization. If you don’t want big brother to tell you what to do, what to buy, who to be with, and what to wear while you’re doing it, then you need to belong. If you want to be able to have the choice of fuel to run your boat engine, lawn mower, snow blower, ATV/UTV, off-road vehicle, anything with a combustion engine, you need to belong. If you have old cars, motorcycles you like to repair, or tinker with, you need to belong.

ABATE of Wisconsin fights for your freedom of choice. Don’t give up your membership because you don’t ride. ABATE is so much more than that.
