While giving the Treasury Report, Cherie informed members that the cost of both “A” and “B” Raffle Licenses have increased from $25 to $50. She noted that Region 1H has not used our “A” Raffle license since we discontinued the Spring Shoot/Gun Raffle. She asked members to think of possible fundraising opportunities to make use of the “A” Raffle License.

 

Steve stated that movement toward passing laws regarding protection of E-10 or less fuel and the right to repair will start up again during the upcoming legislative session.

 

Michelle informed members that despite the hard work, impressive creativity, and well executed campsite theme of “Wizard of Oz,” Region 1H did not win the Campsite Decorating Contest at this year’s Summer Hummer. It should be noted that there was shared skepticism regarding the integrity of the judges, but Region 1H members ultimately accepted the loss. Michelle thanked all members who participated by dressing up and sharing their talents.

 

The VFW Post 1393 (260 Sand Drive, West Bend) has invited us to set up an informational booth to promote ABATE at their 5th Annual Car and Motorcycle Show on Sunday, August 24th.

 

Consider attending the 15th Annual “Bikers Helping Bikers” Poker Run, re-scheduled for September 6th. The ride starts at the Ozaukee Guzzlers’ Clubhouse (412 Jay Road, Fredonia) with check-in between 10:30 and noon. The cost is $20, and it includes food at the last stop.

 

A memorial service will be held for Steveo Schenck on Sunday, September 7th from 12 to 3 pm at American Legion Post 522 (3590 N. Shore Drive, Hubertus, WI 53033).

 

Our Summer Long Fun Run Party will be held at Traditions Pub & Grill in Fillmore on Saturday, September 13th. Books are still available for $10 at participating locations. Ask a Region 1H member if you need help locating one. There is still time to pick up a book and fill it with stamps!
