Meetings:

1G (Ozaukee County) meetings are held on the first Wednesday of each month at 6:30 pm, at Shaker’s Lounge (200 Railroad Street, Saukville.)

 

1H (Washington County) meetings are held on the second Wednesday of each month at 7:00 pm, at American Legion Post 522 -- (3590 N. Shore Drive, Hubertus.)

 

 

Steve encouraged members to share the survey he previously provided regarding Right to Repair with shop owners to complete to describe the negative impact the inability to repair has on their businesses. He asked those who can to use the QR code, but input may be collected on paper forms if necessary.

 

Steve also mentioned that we are receiving questions about e-bike accidents resulting in injuries and fatalities. Steve emphasized that e-bikes are NOT motorcycles and they should not be classified as such.

 

Michelle reminded members that it’s an election year for both Regional Representative and Statewide Board positions. You can find mail-in ballots in your newsletter or vote at the September meeting.

 

Cherie has Calendar Raffle tickets for sale through the September meeting. Tickets cost $50 each with only 200 sold. The 18 drawings totaling $4800 will be held monthly between September 16th and December 16th. There are 13 payouts of $250; 4 payouts of $300; and 1 payout of $350 over the 4-month period.

 

Jean Kurk reminded members that our Summer Long Run with the End of the Run Party will be held on Saturday, September 12th at The Drinking Well in Hartford (5327 Highway 175, Hartford.) Books can be checked in between 2:00 and 4:00. Visit and support the bars until September 12th to get your books stamped. We will have prize raffles, a meat raffle, and a 50/50 cash raffle in addition to the eleven cash payouts. The owners of the Drinking Well are planning to have live music during the event. Region 1H Members – we are still in need of raffle prizes and baskets. We will need volunteers to work the day of the event to check in books, sell raffle tickets, and help run the meat raffle.

 

Wisconsin is the host of the 2026 MRF - Meeting of the Minds at the Sheraton Milwaukee-Brookfield, and Region 1H is responsible for the Hospitality Rooms. Michelle has asked members to sign up to indicate their availability to help on any or all days between September 24th to 27th. It is now urgent to tell Michelle whether you can help and when you would be available. We need to staff two rooms – one for beverages/bar service and one for snacks/meals. Dog will have an information/membership/recruiting booth at the Ozaukee Guzzler Grass Drags on Saturday, September 26th at the Fillmore Sportsman’s Club at 412 Jay Road, Fredonia.

 

Boyd has organized the Fall Social Ride for Saturday, October 3rd starting at Gopher One (309 N. Franklin Street, Port Washington) at 11 am. We will leave promptly at 12 pm. This is not an ABATE sanctioned event – just an organized ride with friends. All vehicles are welcome – this ride goes on rain or shine.

 

 

We will complete Adopt-a-Highway Clean Up on Sunday, October 18th at 10 am. We meet just east of the intersection of Hwy 83 and Hwy 167 in Erin. Join us to help if you can – many hands make light work for all!
