The food stand at Al’s Car Show on May 9th raised $1315.00. This event is our charitable event, and we chose to spend the money as follows: $328.75 (25%) to ABATE for tax liability; $150 to the Ozaukee Guzzlers for a sponsorship in their Summer Run book; $100 to cover the Hartford Christmas Parade entry fee; $100 to renew our MRF membership; $225 for American Legion Post 522; and $411.25 to ABATE for the Marlene Bautch Memorial Fund.
Hogman said there were 43 bikes and great weather for this year’s Bikers Helping Bikers Ride on May 16th. $1062 was raised and has been donated to ABATE.

Dog informed members that he and John Reblin went to US Bank in Grafton to thank the bank President and present him with a certificate of appreciation for allowing us the use of their parking lot for this year’s Awareness Rally. A group met for dinner on June 2nd at Buffalo Wild Wings in West Bend where Michelle similarly thanked the Manager for their ongoing support and generosity.
The weather was perfect for the Civil War Monument dedication on Saturday, June 6th at the Old St. Kilian Cemetery in Hartford. A huge shoutout to Hogman for bringing this organization to our attention and making this opportunity possible. Thank you to everyone who came out to support the ceremony—sharing this moment on D-Day made it even more special. For additional information about the mission of this organization, please visit “Remembering Our Civil War Veterans” at rocwv.org.
Michelle reminded all members that we will continue to hold 1G meetings at Shakers Lounge in Saukville at 6:30 pm on the first Wednesday of each month with the next meeting on July 1st at 6:30 pm. Please join us at this location if you can, but please attend in addition to our regular meeting, not in lieu of it.
The second Adopt-a-Highway Clean Up will be on Sunday, July 12th at 10 am. We meet on the southeast corner of Hwy 83 and 167 in Erin. The clean-up takes about 45 minutes, and then members who wish to socialize choose a spot for drinks and snacks.
We are making plans to attend Ozaukee County National Night Out on Tuesday, August 11th. Details will be shared at the July meeting and in the August newsletter.

We will have our Summer Long Run with the End of the Run Party on Saturday, September 12th at The Drinking Well in Hartford. Jean Kurk reminded members that we need prize donations for the Summer Long Fun Run party on September 12th. Ask a business or donate prizes on your own! Please report issues you have at any of the establishments to Jean or Michelle.
Wisconsin is the host of the 2026 MRF - Meeting of the Minds at the Sheraton Milwaukee-Brookfield, and Region 1H is responsible for the Hospitality Room. We need to staff two rooms – one for beverages/bar service and one for snacks/meals. Michelle’s email address is nusbaum03@yahoo.com.
Julie encouraged members to check the ABATE website for products: abatewis.org and choose “Shop Clothing.”
