The Region 4A/4B meeting was held on Saturday, Aug 8, 2026, at 11 am at Bahama’s Bar & Grill.

 

Thank you, Sam, for attending the meeting and helping finalize our Fun Run on the Water plans.

 

The meeting was called to order by Doug Kops. Doug led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and offered prayers for our fallen brothers and sisters. He also shared that members Joe & Jess have family affected by the Menasha tornado and a Menasha Cares donation was encouraged.

 

The Secretary's Report was printed for everyone to review. Gun Raffle money was collected, and appreciation was given for everyone’s effort in the sales with only 130 tickets left out of 800.

 

Treasurer's Report: Char was unable to attend and submitted the Treasurer's Report via email. The report was read by Jan and approved. Doug shared that Char is retiring from her position as treasurer and asked if anyone was interested in taking over the position. Carly nominated Melissa to serve as our next Treasurer. A vote was held, and the motion to approve Melissa as Treasurer was made and passed. Melissa was contacted by phone and accepted the position.

 

Doug also mentioned we would like to add a Safety Director position to our region. He volunteered to take on that position. A vote was held, and the motion to approve Doug as Safety Director was made and passed.

 

He then reviewed the number of motorcycle accidents/deaths in the US and recent number killed at the Sturgis Rally. Reminder was provided to “Ride Your Own Ride.”

 

Doug also recommended we have an event coordinator. He recommended we nominate Carley for that position. A vote was held, and the motion to approve Carley as Event Coordinator was made and passed. Carley then asked Tammy Pember to be her assistant.

 

Membership, Denise reported that Region 4A/4B welcomed 5 new members this month. She also collected two lifetime memberships from Sam at Bahama’s on the River at our meeting. A membership drawing was held. Jan Kops won the drawing.

 

Legislative. Doug congratulated Jesse on becoming our next District 4 Director.

 

Jesse shared the importance of the right to repair and how we need to get our surveys out and get them filled out to independent shops. He also shared this message:

 

President Trump has talked about vertical control and the assertion of Article II power—the constitutional authority of the President to lead the Executive Branch.

 

The Supreme Court’s decision in Trump v. CASA limited the ability of individual federal judges to block presidential policies nationwide. It didn’t give the President unlimited power, but it changed an important check on how executive policies can be stopped.

 

Why does that matter to ABATE of Wisconsin?

 

Because agencies under the Executive Branch—like the EPA, DOT and NHTSA—make decisions affecting Right to Repair, emissions, fuel choice, autonomous vehicles and motorcycle regulations.

 

That means presidential elections and executive power can eventually reach right into your garage.

 

And remember: power you support when your guy has it is still power when the other guy has it.

 

That’s why ABATE stays involved.

 

Freedom can be lost one regulation at a time—and protected one voice at a time.

 

Our motorcycles brought us together. Freedom gives us a reason to stand together.

 

Old Business. The Steven’s Point Pub crawl is on hold till next year. We had conversation regarding a popular tavern in Wisconsin Rapids getting bad reviews because they do not allow bikers to wear their colors in the tavern due to an incident with a weapon. They are a biker-friendly bar and want to make everyone aware and welcome. We received a $100 donation from them and will use that money towards a listing in the newsletter in the Biker Friendly Bar section.

 

The Region coasters were delivered and shared. A thank you card and pack of coasters will be sent to Brian Pinkstaff for sponsoring the coasters.

 

Doug reviewed upcoming events. Several members are interested and are going to Meeting of the Minds.

October meeting will not be held due to Annual Meeting in Eau Claire.
