Next Meeting: 11 am June 13 at The Junkyard Bar & Grill in WI. Rapids

 

The Region 4A/4B meeting was held on June 13 at the Junkyard Bar & Grill. Thank you Ron, for hosting our meeting! We welcomed a large group and several new guests/members. The meeting was called to order by Doug Kops. Doug led the group in the Pledge of Allegiance and offered prayers for our fallen brothers and sisters. Secretary report. Jan shared that we sent a thank you to all that helped with our brat fry.

 

Char shared the Treasurer’s report and money earned from our May brat fry. Our success was applauded.

 

Jesse shared how important the right to repair is not only for motorcyclists but for the independent shops. We discussed getting more ATV/UTV clubs to be members of ABATE as they share the same concerns. It was noted that ATV/UTV recent seatbelt and helmet law changes can easily happen to motorcyclists.

 

Jesse & Carley shared what they learned at the Portage County Tavern League. It was voted on and approved to join. Cost of membership was shared and donations accepted. We printed and framed a Certificate of Appreciation for Mary Tepp at Hometown Bar for her help with our gun raffle by displaying one of the prizes and selling many tickets. The certificate was given to her after the meeting.

 

We hope the voting for Jesse Plawman to be our next District 4 Director was successful. Winners will be announced in the August issue of the newsletter.

 

Denise shared we have 7 new members this month. Carly earned her “I Got Mine Did You” t-shirt. We held a membership drawing; Mike Tushkowski’s name was drawn, he was not present, so the prize will carry over to the next meeting.

 

Jan provided an update on coasters. Updates to the format are needed and we will continue to work with the vendor. We also reviewed payment and possibly covering the cost with donations.

 

We discussed plans for Summer Hummer and will continue to share updates via a text message group. Melissa will be a vendor at the hummer, be sure to stop in to see her there. Doug will be leading a ride on Friday to the Loney Few clubhouse, SOL Cycles, and Happy Beerze. Jesse shared he has a 250th Anniversary American Flag Display he would like to raffle at the Hummer.

 

We talked about riding in a local parade. We will carry discussion over to our next meeting.

 

We recognized Char’s granddaughter Bryanna, for helping us out with the brat fry for 2 years and with the pool and dart tournament/chili feed. She was awarded with a Certificate of Appreciation, a backpack, and a Target gift card. Jesse & Denise sponsored a Jr. Patriot membership for her.

 

Updates for the Fun Run on the Water Ride were provided by Jan. We are looking for more sponsors and basket raffle donations. The goal is to have posters by June 26.
