ABATE of Wisconsin - Region 7C
Meetings: 1st Sunday – 1:30 pm at Jailhouse Saloon, Centerville, WI
To paraphrase Hardtail at the Board Meeting: If you can’t be ok with some elected person that supports ABATE of Wisconsin no matter what side they’re on, then maybe you need to join a different tribe! Being able to have a conversation with someone that you don’t agree with is paramount to being in an organization such as ABATE of Wisconsin. We build bridges with diverse people to see our objectives come to fruition.
Steve Panten read the Governor’s reasoning behind the decision to NOT sign the Fuel Choice bill. The response was pro-ABATE until the last paragraph. Going forward, we will focus on what the Party leadership objected to and working to rectify their concerns next year.
Steve Panten is having “Legislative Education” seminars around the State. District 7’s is at John & Michelle’s Bateman Bar in Lake Wissota at 9 am on December 7th. Take WI Hwy 29 east from Chippewa Falls, exit Co Rd X and head north. This coincides with our monthly meeting at our new venue (American Legion in Holmen.) I am hoping that someone from 7C could go, but I will be leading the meeting in Holmen at 1:30 pm. You don’t need to be an ABATE member to attend the Seminar (but be prepared to sign up.)
Lobby Day is approaching quickly so I’m reminding folks to be a part of ABATE’s most important day. Something to chew on…bring a Junior Patriot or two along and let them in on the grassroots lobbying that we do. Remember that any chance to create a great citizen is worthwhile.
Betty has both Holiday Raffle Tickets and Sweetheart Raffle Tickets for sale. Cost is 2 for $5. The Holiday Raffle winners will be drawn at the December BOD meeting on December 14th and the Sweetheart Raffle winners will be drawn before the BOD meeting on February 8th, 2026 – which is also our Officer Training weekend. Both raffles have prizes of 1st Place - $1,000; 2nd Place - $500; and 3rd Place $250. Be sure to get yours by contacting Betty before the drawings are held..
Our next meeting is December 7th at the American Legion in Holmen. 1:30 pm Legion Hall is behind Holmen Locker.
Hope you can make it.
Clint
