Good day to all…

Still thinking about Leadership Training this past weekend and really seeing the value in this annual event. I remember the students from my time at Tech School and how some gave just a bit more effort to their career path and were going to be very successful. Applying that same energy to ABATE of Wisconsin will make our organization better. A little “extra” can mean the difference in making the monthly meeting a place for community and information sharing or just preaching. A good leader will invite folks to join in the discussion and seek out the next person to take the reins.

 

Lobby Day will be a memory by the time you read this. Did you take the day to make our voices heard in Madison? If ya did, THANKS! I’m not gonna get all up in your biscuits if you couldn’t be there. We have lives outside of ABATE and time is the commodity that is finite.

 

In Marshfield, I was thinking about getting to hang with some folks who I genuinely respect. This leadership cadre has shown, time and again, we have made motorcycling in Wisconsin truly special. ABATE has given us choices that were hard won but still need tending to. Vigilance, my fellow Freedom Fighters!

 

This very welcome warmer weather probably has ya throwing the leg over the scoot and knocking off the rust in your soul! Just remember that we are not the expected vehicle sharing the road. Be careful out there!

 

Some interesting things happening:

March 14th in Bangor, WI is a Vintage swap meet starting at 8 am at the Log Cabin on Hwy162 just north of I-90 exit 16.

Another event is the Vintage/Classic Motorcycle Rally in Reedstown, WI at Shovelhead Bar on Main Street at 9 am May 17th. Was told this is rain or shine, so pack that rain gear.

Also, gonna mention the Donnie Smith/Dennis Kirk Bike Show ‘n Swap Meet March 28 & 29 at St. Paul River Centre (175 W. Kellogg Blvd. St. Paul, Mn.) This is their 37th year… yeah, I know, the time really flew by!
