ABATE 4C August 2026 Meeting. Shannon CTO at 1 pm, 13 members present. Pogie led the pledge, with Shannon giving a MOS for our lost brothers and sisters. A big thank you to Scott and Lisa from Lisa’s G-spot, for hosting our meeting. Paul read the July minutes with no additions or corrections. MMS to accept as read by Pogie and Tom, all aye, motion carried.

 

Treasury report: All accounts are up to date, as well as raffle prizes paid for. The state reimbursed $50 for overpayment of license fees. Tom gave an update from the state BOD meeting. The newsletter has a new printer service. Low turnout of littles at the family campout.

 

Sue Vertz has been holding “Share the Road” classes, while Paul has had none. Paul said with on-line classrooms, they don’t call him. Fatalities are at 51, with 52 from 2025, still too many.

 

Lobby day will be March 18, 2027. Officer Training, Feb 26-28, 2027. We will have 23 trophy sponsors for the car show on August 29. Be sure to vote at elections this year. There are 7 at-large positions open. Legislative report: Pogie tells us Derek Van Orden introduced an anti-helmet bill for the Washington D.C. area, Freedom Act, H.R. 10067 and S.B. 5274. 3 fatalities in Sturgis this year. 73 crashes. 2025 had 97 with 4 deaths. Too many!

 

Membership: Rainy and Paul received their “I Got Mine” shirts at the meeting for recruiting 10 or more new members. Paul donated his free membership for a raffle at a later date. Pogie said Kay will also. Keep up the good work! ` Americas National Night Out was discussed. Medford Chamber of Commerce organized the event at the Taylor County Fairgrounds. Police and fire departments, EMT’s present. Our region was represented by Kay and Rainy. Thank You! Pogie will be presenting a plaque to (Kowboy) Josh Balk’s wife at the car show for his previous involvements with our region. He donated a lot of his time and money to ABATE.

 

Upcoming events; 4C car show Aug 29 Stanley, 10 am. Fun Run ending, and September 20 meeting, One Shot in Owen. October 18 meeting, Behind Barrs, Greenwood. 50/50 won by Cheezy. He donated most of it back to ABATE. Motion to adjourn by Laurie.
