Meetings: See Text
Hey all -
February was another busy month for us! We had our monthly meeting at Fishtail Inn. Thank you to Dale and his team for being great hosts. After the meeting we chatted and made the decision to have our 2026 Summer Freedom Ride Party there. It should be a great time! During the meeting we went over the Officer reports and discussed that we are looking for someone to step into the Membership role. We talked about the upcoming events; Lobby Day, our March Meeting & Meat Raffle, the Get Your Wheels on Bike & Car Show, and a little about the Summer Hummer. Make sure to join us on March 1st for our meeting and Meat Raffle after the meeting. We'll also have a special guest speaker. Dale Monday of Monday & Associates Insurance has supported us for many years and is sponsoring the Summer Freedom Ride again. He will be sharing tips about what kind of coverage is advised and why. We also talked about the products site and the new Lifetime site. If you are a Lifetime Member and didn't get an email, please let me know & I'm happy to get your email updated or help you with any potential order. We also talked about upcoming Officer Training and the tickets to be picked up there. Everyone was pretty excited to get their hands on some Kooler Kart Raffle Tickets. Thank you again, Jason, for donating it!
Next up was Officer Training; lots of great new ideas being tried out this year. It was great to hear we tried this and we haven't seen the outcome we were hoping for so let’s try something new. It's inspiring lots of other Regions to share their ideas and different things they do. Example: 4A/4B has little table tents that they leave at establishments to let them know they were there. I happened to see one sitting on the hotel bar and had to ask. They shared the template and I printed a few off. I'm bringing them to the March meeting for input. We got our new marketing supplies for the year including a kit for National Night Out. A lady from the DOT and an Attorney from Hupy & Abraham SC both spoke at training. Both of them shared information that stressed the importance of making sure you have adequate insurance to cover yourself.
Legislatively it was a big month. On the 3rd & the 12th members from across the state headed to Madison to speak at Public Hearings in regard to our opposition to allowing autonomous vehicles to drive in level 4 & 5 modes on Wisconsin roads. Our presence was noticed. Then on the 17th hundreds of our members went to Madison for Lobby Day. Danno did a great job of setting appointments for us. They started at 9:45 am so Susie, Jason, Pat, & I made the trip down early in the truck. We did run into some other members from our Region who took the bus. Thank you to all who took PTO and gave their time to be there. This isn't this without you! Thank you as well to those who organize the day! Special shout out to Rep. Ron Tusler, Representative Joy Goeben, Representative Dean Kaufert, Senator Eric Wimberger, & Senator Rachael Cabral-Guevara for making time to discuss our issues. We also met with staff from the offices of Rep Snodgrass, Rep Palmeri, Senator Dassler Alfheim, Rep Murphy, & Rep Gustafson. As we all know, there are some important elections coming up for our state this year. Remember to vote motorcycle!
As we wrap up February, we have moved into full swing of getting the Summer Freedom Ride books off for print. We also are in the final stages of planning the Meat Raffle. We hope to see you all there. It should be a good time. And Jason plans to have the Kooler Kart there so if you haven't seen it in person, you can get your 1st glimpse of it then. Join us for an afternoon of fun!
See you soon!
Krissy
