Meetings: See Text
We had our November meeting at City Limits in Menasha on the 2nd. We started off the meeting with Dan updating us on membership. Dan shared today that he is stepping down as our Membership Officer with the new year. I would like to fill this position, so if you are curious about what it involves, please reach out. Officer Training is in February, and I would hope to have the role filled and have the new officer come that weekend. After that we went over the Treasury report. Pete shared from Texas that everyone should keep up the good work. Steve shared that he went to Land Closing at ABATE Acres and enjoyed it. He was excited to share what was done at the land and what is upcoming. Looking to get a crew back to the land for Land Warming in May. In 2026 it will be the weekend before our Bike & Car Show, so timing works out! Danno had lots to share at the meeting. Last month he met with the Appleton PD to understand what the noise problems are, what they are looking to do, and how we can help. He also went to a "Stop the Noise" meeting to hear what they had to say. On the 1st Danno attended the Lobby Day Training at Buzz's in Freedom and shared his takeaways. The most important was that we as members, have to get better at reaching out to our legislators when there are Call to Actions. Also, please help spread the word to others so they also get the alerts and participate. We also discussed the importance of voting after the Governor vetoed SB184. Thank you, Danno, for participating in all these meetings and working the phones & emails with our legislators.
After Officer Reports we went over the results of the Meat Raffle at Jeanne's Bar in Sherwood on the 1st. Thank you Nikki for hosting us. We purchased meat from Woldt's Farm Store, Brillion Butcher Shop, & Neimuth's Southside Market. Thank you to those who helped hang posters, John for picking up some of the meat, those who helped set up, and Amanda for helping me sell tickets. Also, thank you to the patrons of Jeanne's and others who came out and supported us. It was another successful year. Members would like to do 2 meat raffles in 2026.
We touched base on the Summer Freedom Ride and volunteers are busy stopping at businesses with the information. We also went over the dates for our 2026 meetings. There are 3 meetings that are being moved to the 2nd Saturday because of holidays. Cold season meetings will be close to the county line. Summer meetings will alternate further into each county. The full schedule for 2026 will be posted in the January newsletter. We also went over the state events, raffles, products, and future lobby day training sessions. A few of us are planning to go to Region 2F's December meeting & Christmas Party on the 13th.
Other updates not discussed at the meeting: Planning is also underway for the Get Your Wheels on Bike & Car Show. We have a committee meeting on November 16th so we can mail out the "Save the Dates" and work on getting sponsorships. Jason got the sign and is hoping to have the Kooler Kart finished by Thanksgiving.
Thank you to all who donate their time and/or money to our events. Thank you to those who attend & support our events as well. All of us working together is what makes this successful.
Merry Christmas & Happy New Year!
Krissy
