Meetings are the FIRST Sunday of the month at 1 pm at the Snider Richardson American Legion Post 273 in Grand Marsh, WI. Our January meeting will be at NOON instead of 1 since it is our Annual Holiday party. We will have a short meeting followed by a potluck party, bring a dish to pass and your own beverage.

Meeting was called to order by our Regional Rep., Tim, followed by the Pledge and a Moment of Silence for our downed brothers, sisters and those in harm’s way. We had 10 members and a pending junior patriot in attendance.

November meeting minutes/secretary report was printed on the back of the agenda for the members to read. It was accepted and approved. Barb gave the treasurer’s report, which was accepted and approved. Rick reported for membership that we have 61 members. Products are available at abatewis.org; make sure to check the size chart for each product, sizes may vary by brand. Area Rep suggested taking old newsletters and flyers and putting them at different places for people to learn more about ABATE. For Share The Road there was nothing new to report. John was not present for legislation. Lobby Day is Tuesday, February 17, 2026. Check the newsletter for scheduled trainings and for the bus schedule and for information on how to order your Lobby Day t-shirt. Tim mentioned SB 184 being vetoed, and that we are still waiting for a public hearing on AB 135 Right to Repair Bill. Brenda talked about Waymo the autonomous-vehicle subsidiary of Alphabet's planned increase in driverless vehicles in 2026, and the rewrite of CAFE (Corporate Average Fuel Economy) standards which reopens the door for internal combustion choice. The administration framed the change as a return to the original purpose of CAFE, focusing on fuel efficiency, rather than forced electrification. The proposal directly affects cars and trucks. Rules of this kind are frequently expanded over time to include motorcycles.

Old business that was mentioned was our monthly meetings for 2026 which will remain at the American Legion Post 273 in Grand Marsh at 1 pm. Sweetheart raffle tickets are still available see Brenda.

New business:

Officer's training will be February 6-8, 2026.

Sponsors are needed for the Summer Hummer and the deadline is December 31st for publication on our event flyers. Please get information from Tim or see your newsletter.

Reminder was given to talk with establishments and see if they would be interested in advertising in the newsletter under ABATE/Biker friendly establishments. Information can be located in the newsletter.

Cabin Fever will be May 30, 2026 - we tabled selecting our committee for the event until our January meeting. We are also planning on choosing a location for the event at the January meeting.

Dave won $30 with the 50/50 drawing.

Jan Brown lost $201 with the membership drawing. Just a reminder that you must be present at the meeting the month prior to win the membership drawing.

Be Safe and Happy New Year from Region 2J.

Brenda
