Meetings are the FIRST Sunday of the month at 1 pm at the Snider Richardson American Legion Post 273 in Grand Marsh, WI.

Meetings will be held on the following dates for 2026 at 1 pm at the Snider Richardson American Legion Post 273 in Grand Marsh, WI unless otherwise noted. Saturday, April 11; Sunday, May 3; Sunday, June 7; Saturday, July 11; Sunday, August 2 - will be at NOON and will be family cookout; NO meeting in September; Sunday, October 4 - Regional Rep election will take place; Sunday, November 1; and Sunday, December 6.
Meeting was called to order by our Regional Rep Tim followed by the Pledge and a Moment of Silence for our downed brothers, sisters and those in harm’s way. We had 12 members in attendance.
February meeting minutes/secretary report was printed on the back of the agenda for the members to read. It was accepted and approved. There was no Treasurer’s report given due to the treasurer not being present. Brenda reported for membership that we have 56 members and 1 Junior Patriot. We talked about the "Buddy Program." Products are available at abate@abatewis.org; make sure to check the size chart for each product, sizes may vary by brand. Tim reported for ShareThe Road that he has been in contact with some trucking companies and a cab company but has not been able to get any classes scheduled. The Area Rep was not present. Brenda talked about the emails from MRF on Autopilot overstated by Tesla in California and HR 3385 Definition of Motorcycle. Also, covered AB 848/ SB 831 (Autonomous Vehicles). Last but not least we talked about the great turnout and successful Lobby Day along with the increase in responses to the Call to Actions. Don reminded the members that we need to be reaching out to friends, family, neighbors and ask them to respond to them also. The emails that we receive and the posts on Facebook can be forwarded to them.
Old Business that was discussed was Motorcycle profiling had those members that were not at the February meeting do the survey. Officer's training was a great time and there was much information shared. There were several hand outs and posters brought back. Please take the time to pick some up and distribute them. Help spread the word about ABATE. There were also raffle tickets brought back. Tim has tickets for Kooler Kart and Cash Raffle that will be drawn at the Summer Hummer. Brenda has Advance Summer Hummer tickets.
New Business: May is Motorcycle Awareness month. It was discussed and decided that instead of going to the same places as we have in the past, we would try a couple of new places. It was decided that we would check into going to The Corner Pump in Wisconsin Dells (corner of Hwy 13 and 82) and the Pioneer Travel Mart in Westfield. The date will be Saturday, May 9 and times are 10-11:30 at Pioneer Travel Mart and 12-1:30 at The Corner Pump. Also, we will be at Oxford Travel Plaza in Oxford from 10-12 on May 2.
ABATE Acres Land Opening is May 15-17 and is a great time. It is not all work and no fun. We have fun along with getting the land ready for the season. Mark your calendars and come enjoy the camaraderie with fellow ABATE members.
Cabin Fever will be May 30 at Family Affair Restaurant, 208 North Main Street, Friendship, WI. Still working on getting sponsors and finalizing the route for the ride. There will be a raffle at each stop and a bucket raffle at the end of the ride.
There are several events happening throughout the state for ABATE. Check out your newsletter for some great opportunities to visit other regions’ events.
Brenda won $44 with the 50/50 drawing and donated it back to ABATE. There was no membership drawing since the membership officer was not present. Just a reminder that you must be present at the meeting and present the month prior to win the membership drawing.
Hoppy Easter from Region 2J.
Brenda
