Meetings are the FIRST Sunday of the month at 1 pm at the Snider Richardson American Legion Post 273 in Grand Marsh, WI.

Meetings will be held on the following dates for 2026 at 1pm at the Snider Richardson American Legion Post 273 in Grand Marsh, WI unless otherwise noted. NO meeting in September; Sunday, October 4 - regional rep election will take place; Sunday, November 1; and Sunday, December 6.

 

NO September Meeting

October Meeting is election for regional rep.

 

Meeting was called to order by our Regional Rep Tim, followed by the Pledge and a Moment of Silence for our downed brothers, sisters and those in harm’s way. We had 11 members including a Junior Patriot along with several family members present.

 

July meeting minutes/Secretary report was printed on the back of the agenda for the members to read. It was accepted and approved. Brenda gave Treasurer's report. It was accepted and approved. Rick reported for membership that we have 52 members and 1 junior patriot. Products are available at abatewis.org; make sure to check the size chart for each product, sizes may vary by brand. There was nothing to report for Share The Road or from the Area Rep. For legislation Brenda talked about the questionnaires that we need to get out to the independent shops in regard to the Right to Repair. Along with the email from the MRF with the safety statement that was released from Insurance Institute for Highway Safety with the percentage of police reportable crashes for the Waymos driverless vehicles operating in Phoenix, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Austin.

 

No Old Business was discussed.

 

New Business - We now have a "change jar" we are collecting your change, or any donation that you would like to make, to put towards the fundraising for the replacement of the "brown palace" at ABATE Acres.

 

Cabin Fever will be discussed at the October meeting.

 

There are several events happening throughout the state for ABATE. Check out your newsletter for some great opportunities to visit other region’s events. 2026 MOTM is September 24-27 at the Sheraton Milwaukee/Brookfield. Make your reservations and come join us. Annual State Meeting is October 9-11. ABATE Acres land closing will be October 16-18.

 

Bob Ellefson lost $73.50 with the membership drawing. Just a reminder that you must be present at the meeting and present the month prior to win the membership drawing.
