The Summer Hummer State Rally, is our major fund raising event for
ABATE of Wisconsin, this flagship showcase brings
motorcyclist enthusiasts from all over the state and neighboring regions
together. If you who have not attended
in the past or have not tried this event for some time you are sure to be
impressed. By now I’m sure, you have seen or heard last year's Summer Hummer
State Rally had two visiting journalists, Richee Lee
with Saddle Tramp magazine, and Natanic a photographer with Paisano
Publications (Easyrider, Biker, V-Twin magazines etc) visited
last year's Summer Hummer, you can look for a 3 page article by 'Natanic' in the April 2010 edition of 'Biker Magazine'.

Why don't you consider going to the ABATE of Wisconsin Summer Hummer State Rally!
What aids us
in making a decision which event to attend, maybe it's Bike week Daytona,
Sturgis, maybe some of us like to attend other ABATE State Functions, ABATE of
Iowa Freedom Rally, ABATE of Minnesota state rally, or Illinois, Michigan or
Indiana. Which runs do we want to pencil in, the Cannon run, the Flood run, the
Thunder run, maybe it's the MDA Run or many of the other local events in your
area; with so many options how do we juggle our precious vacation time and make
weekend plans? Do we make this decision based on where we've been in the
past? Word of mouth? Maybe we peruse our biker rags?

State Rally Committee Preparing for 2010 Event

Here it is only a few months after the Summer Hummer, and already they are
calling for snow, to think just a few short months ago we were enjoying our
State Rally…
Now it is time to start plans for the next ABATE Summer Hummer Rally. This
Rally has been getting bigger every year, and with out all the many volunteers
it would not be a success. We understand that many of the members out there
have some great skills and ideas that would assist in making this event even
bigger and better, and we would like to here from you.
With that in mind we have restructured the Summer Hummer committee into ten
sub-committees. Each subcommittee will handle a area/subject of the Hummer
Rally, the sub-committee’s will discuss, meet, email, communicate whatever way
possible, and listen to ideas for their area, then come up with a complete
recommendation for their area of the event. Then the head of the sub-committee
will present their recommendations to the Summer Hummer Rally co-chairs and
sub-committee heads at their monthly meeting prior to the Board of Directors
meeting.
If YOU have skills, talents, ideas, suggestions, or would just like to be
involved in an certain area of the event…please email/contact the Head of the
following sub-committees to let them know you would like to be involved, and
are willing to help out with that sub-committees job, and responsibilities at
the Rally.

This is a historic year for ABATE of WI, celebrating 35
years this October, our 25th State Rally in a few weeks, and the 5th
year of the Rally at our home, ABATE Acres.
There are always a lot of last minute details to attend to, so I will be
short and sweet this time around. I know
that regular readers of this newsletter have been following the planning stages
of the Summer Hummer State Rally since last winter. Let me just say that the bulk of the process
is done, and all that really remains is the final
set-up which will take place in the 3 or 4 days before the gates open. Many of the members come a few days early and
assist with these last minute tasks, but equally important are those members
who can stay a day or two after the Rally to help tear-down and make the
grounds look as pristine as they were only a week ago.

- From Thorp: South on Hwy M, East on Hwy MM, Straight on Capital Rd. Property is on the Left.
- From Neillsville: North on Hwy 73 to Greenwood, West on Hwy G, North on Hwy O, West on Hwy MM, MM turns North and then East onto Capital Rd. Property is on the Left.
